The Big Free Festival Day July 2012

The Big Free Festival Day - Sunday 8 July. CANCELLED

It was with heavy heart that we had to announce that The Big Free Festival Day would not be going ahead.

The persistent rain in June/July meant that we have had to take the final decision to cancel the event. The safety of the public and artists and the ground conditions in the park meant that unfortunately the event could not go ahead.

The Big Free Festival Day has entertained the crowds for the past 8 years, we hope to see you and the sunshine next year for the ninth.

Grab your suncream and pop in to Pudsey Park for an afternoon of free family activities. We've got real garden sheds with artists squashed inside them, street shows and music and tons of arts and craft activities for the whole family.

This is the festival big event! A whole afternoon of free stuff to do in one of the city's prettiest parks.

Watch out for Big Rory and Oochie, a 9ft scotsman and his very naughty dog. They caused so much mayhem when they were last here we couldn't resist inviting them back. Our afternoon comedy show comes from Bread and Butter who are legends in Wigan and are kings of a good pun.
Music on the day comes in brass and guitar flavours with the Bradford Youth Concert Band taking a turn on the bandstand while Armley's own Rock School have their own mini festival tent.

And if you are more of a doer than a watcher then we have tons of arts and craft activities for you to get stuck in to in our festival sheds and tents. Learn Origami, have a go at shed painting by numbers or relax and have a story read to you in the Jackanory shed. There are over 15 sheds and tents to explore and when you need your energy topping up we have local food sellers to satisfy your appetite.

All this and Bowls too!
The Pudsey Bowling Club will be on hand all day to let us have a go on the green with their funny shaped balls.

Getting there...

Pudsey Park is on Church Lane in Pudsey, LS28 7RF. There is on-street parking nearby, or behind the leisure centre.

Check wymetro for bus details, but the purple bendy Number 4 certainly goes from the city centre via Armley.
