Actors needed

Male actors wanted

We're looking for around eight men to appear as the community chorus in this fantastic new play as part of the I Love West Leeds Festival. You'll be playing a mix of prisoners and warders.

Play Up, Play Up is a dark and clever musical comedy by two new Yorkshire writers Boff Whalley and Dom Grace whose most recent project was It's a Lovely Day Tomorrow at West Yorkshire Playhouse, and who are currently under commission for Red Ladder's winter show. It's a knockabout comedy with a huge heart and will be a real blast to work on.
It's directed by Daniel Bye whose recent show was Full of Noises for the West Yorkshire Playhouse and is currently directing Monday for Red Ladder.

There are a number of songs in the show and a live band, and though you don't need by any means need a beautiful voice, you'll need to feel comfortable holding a note as part of a group.

The performance takes place 17-18 July, in a small venue in far flung Westest Leeds called the Comenius Arts Centre, in Fulneck at the Fulneck School.
Auditions will take place on the evening of Wednesday 17th June at Interplay Theatre on Armley Rdige Rd. Rehearsals will then take place over the following few weeks, probably on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. The performances will take place on 17-18 July, and the week leading up to the performances we expect to need you most evenings.

If you're interested in auditioning, please email danielbye@ymail.com giving your name, age and telephone number. Or contact the Festival Director Jane Earnshaw on 0789 631 8657
